AN ORIGINAL SHORT STORY
FROM THE CELEBRATED AUTHOR OF
THE BESTSELLING NOVEL HERE, HOME, HOPE ....

Three mothers. Three sons. One day that changes them all forever.

Five Star Reviews!
"Nicely written - very quick read - sad moment but wonderfully heartwarming! Ms. Rouda - you're Light Blue!" ~ Stacy Eaton, author

"Kaira Rouda does an amazing job of weaving three disparate tales together by uniting them around a single shocking event as observed by three very different types of women, all at different stages of motherhood. Her voice is authentic and each story is engaging and leaves you wanting to know more. It was a perfect story." ~ Hobson, Reviewer

"I enjoyed the short story which delves into the lives of three different women who are mothers - each of them is at a different stage of motherhood (a new mom with a baby to a mom of a teenage son) and each has boys (I have two sons myself). We get a peek into the lives of these three women on Mother's Day and a shocking event that happens that they are all tied to in some way - a life-changing event - and eventually see how the three moms are connected (think like the movie CRASH with Sandra Bullock where the characters are slightly connected). For those who enjoy it, dive into the author's full-length novel called HERE, HOME, HOPE. Both are great reads for women who enjoy women's fiction novels that are both inspiring, real and well written." ~ WriterCrys, Reviewer

A Mother Day A Short Story edition by Kaira Rouda Literature Fiction eBooks

A Mother’s Day – A well written, interesting story about a tragic happening and how three different mothers handled the situation with their children. The mothers all kept on even keel and gained from the happening.

I wouldn’t recommend it for a coffee break if you’re the sensitive, easy-to-cry type, but it reads quickly. This is the first story I’ve read by this author and while it was a dark subject, the story didn’t bring the reader down.

What a gripping and amazing testimony to motherhood and the courage it takes to be who we are. One day a tragic event strikes and it will forever connect three mothers in a way that they never thought possible.

They will probably never meet but their bond can't be broken.

One mother is driving with her son, having a day off from school to just spend time together...

Another mother is trying to get her life back on track after having a baby and struggling with postpartum...

The last mother has a son with Asperger's and she is so happy that his life is starting to normalize and he's doing great in high school and headed to college...then she gets a phone call and tragedy strikes...

How will these mothers cope? How will they know what to say to their children to make them understand?

Such a powerful story that I advise every woman to read...it's an amazing depiction of what motherhood truly is...
Sweet mix of Mother's Day stories.
This short story, "A Mother's Day" by Kaira Rouda, takes place a couple of weeks before Mother's Day. Three mothers, all mothers of sons of varying ages, are tied to an event that two of them witness and it effects the mothers and two of the sons in ways one wouldn't expect. Out of the sadness that they witness comes hope for the mothers and their families that show the strength these women have in order to take such a thing and turn it into how they can be better mothers, wives and servants to society.

The story is written in three parts from the viewpoints of mothers Julie, Lynne and Mary. Julie's boy is school age, Lynne's is a baby in a stroller and Mary's son is a senior in high school who has Asperger's Syndrome. Although they each have their own problems to face, all of these mothers want the best life possible for their sons, and work hard to provide it.

The story is well-written and is a nice tribute to the strength and dedication to mothers as a Mother's Day story.
The sadness and the realities of real life in a few short stories that are sure to touch your heart.
Interesting turn on a short story!! It is too bad the story couldn't have been longer. It was a good story.
I loved the vignettes! There is an emotional quality to each one that I think would have gotten muddled had the story been told differently. Kaira's writing is strong, yet told with compassion. I very much enjoyed A Mother's Day.
Interesting story of three mother's whose lives get intertwined and they don't even know it. I would have liked a little more background on the dead person.
